At Access Psychiatry, we believe that healing extends beyond medication. Many patients find therapy to be a powerful space to process life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, loneliness, academic stress, and internal struggles like self-worth or identity. Every session is tailored to meet your individual needs with compassion and clinical insight.
We utilize a range of evidence-based approaches, including supportive therapy, behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused techniques. When appropriate, family support sessions or educational components may be offered, particularly in cases involving serious mental illness, new diagnoses, or school-related concerns.
All therapy is provided in a confidential, respectful, and judgment-free environment.
Medication management is a structured approach to ensure prescriptions are used safely, effectively, and in a way that best supports each patient’s health. It involves reviewing medical history, current conditions, and existing medications to design a personalized treatment plan. Regular follow-ups allow healthcare providers to monitor progress, manage side effects, and make necessary adjustments for optimal results.
Beyond prescribing, medication management focuses on patient education, helping individuals understand their medications, proper dosages, and the importance of adherence. By minimizing risks such as drug interactions, overuse, or misuse, it enhances treatment effectiveness, supports long-term health, and promotes better quality of life for patients managing chronic or acute conditions.
At Access Psychiatry, we use lab testing to understand better how your body responds to medications, stress, and overall health needs. We are in-network with LabCorp and offer GeneSight® testing to support personalized care.
When appropriate, we may recommend GeneSight® pharmacogenetic testing to help us prescribe the proper medication for you, based on your genetic profile.
Your care is personal, and your lab results help us treat you safely and effectively.
At times, you may need lab testing such as blood, urine, or mouth swab samples to help us understand how your body is functioning, responding to stress, or reacting to medications. For certain medications, checking drug levels in the blood is important to ensure both safety and effectiveness. Lab orders may be sent electronically or provided as a paper slip, and everything will be explained so you can ask questions. If you’ve had recent labs done with another provider, those results can be used to avoid unnecessary costs.
The GeneSight Psychotropic test analyzes how your genes may affect your outcomes with medications commonly prescribed to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. The GeneSight Psychotropic test provides your clinician with information about which medications may require dose adjustments, may be less likely to work for you or may have an increased risk of side effects based on your genetic makeup.
